Muga Tasting Kit (3 Bottles)
We are very lucky that we have such a great relationship with the Muga family, and we’ve therefore decided to showcase their amazing wines in two different collaboration cases.
A little information about this special winery:
Bodegas Muga was officially founded in 1932 by the Muga family, who had already spent several decades working as viticulturists in Rioja Alta. At the time the Mugas were in the negociant business of buying, blending, and ageing wine. Soon after the foundation of the cellars they started production of their own estate grown wines. The winery is still owned by the Mugas and every single aspect of its operation is controlled and overseen by the family.
Located in the foothills of the Montes Obarenses, their five principle vineyards are El Estepal, La Loma, Blatracones, La Loma Alta, and Sajazarra. The key to everything here is wood, from the magnificent eighteenth-century wooden Bodega, to the impressive collection of 14,000 barrels used for the maturation. Muga is one of the few producers in Spain with its own Cooperage, which employs three experts full time in addition to a ‘Cubero’, a specialist who makes and maintains the large casks!
The quality of wines across the Muga range is superb, from fresh and easy drinking whites and roses to age-worthy and classy reds.
